Since Deion Sanders took over as head coach of the University of Colorado Boulder's Buffaloes football program, Jason Whitlock has been relentless in his criticism of the toxic culture that has resulted from Sanders' inept leadership.
Now that football season is in full swing again, Jason is ready to analyze the coach's every move, starting with the team's lucky overtime win against the Baylor Bears last Saturday.
“I know they should have lost,” he said, adding that the win was nothing to brag about because “Baylor isn't strong.”

According to Jason, the only reason the Buffaloes won was because “other coaches [them] This game remains one of the worst defensive calls in football history.”
“Leaving three guys one-on-one on the last play of the game! That's the dumbest thing I've ever seen,” he said.
As for the Buffaloes, Jason says their performance was “exactly the same as what we saw last year.”
“Remember when they beat Colorado State to start 3-0? They were lucky! … It's the exact same thing all over again,” he says, pointing out the team's unfortunate plight. They have “no right tackle,” “so-so guards,” and a “freshman holding tackle … a five-star All-American kid who thought he was going to solve everything” who is struggling.
But that's not to say the Buffaloes didn't do anything right, and Jason gives them credit where it's due.
“Hats off to them for diversifying their attack,” he said. “They changed formations. [quarterback Shedeur Sanders] A few different looks.”
“But in the end, it was all down to a stupid head coach at Baylor putting together the wrong defense,” he said.
To make matters worse for Baylor, head coach Dave Aranda apparently sacrificed the youth of his team rather than take responsibility for making the wrong defensive calls.
“This was one of the worst coaching performances I've ever seen, both during and after the game,” Jason said.
And as for Dion, he's still a “clown” in Jason's eyes.
“His teams haven't improved much. I don't think they'll win more than five or six games this year,” he sighed.
Besides the fact that Sanders is still the coach, another reason Jason doesn't see the team improving this season has to do with the team's other main leader, Sanders' son, quarterback Shedul Sanders.
Last week, “someone criticized Schedulle for not shaking hands with the Colorado State quarterback after the game,” but unfortunately, Dion defended his actions: “The week before, he left the field with two minutes left.”
“Shedur is a reflection of Dion. Dion has no class, so his son has no class,” Jason says.
“The foundational pieces aren't in place for Colorado to build something sustainable.”
