Virtual Tie in Key Swing State of Michigan

Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are in Suffolk/USA Today This was revealed through a survey.

Michigan polls show photograph From September 16 to 19, 2024, 500 voters were asked who they would choose if Trump and Harris faced off.

Harris was favored by 48% of respondents, while Trump's support was supported by 45% — a three-point difference — but that difference is within the survey's overall margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points, making the results a virtual tie.

Another 4 percent remain undecided, according to the survey.

David Paleologos, director of Suffolk University's Center for Political Studies, said the race is likely to fall in the hands of third-party voters.

“If Kamala Harris' lead shrinks to one point, winning or losing the entire state of Michigan will hinge on the periphery of Michigan's votes,” he said.

“The outcome could depend on whether third-party voters, who are often derided as wasting their votes, go for either Harris or Trump,” he added.

The impact of third-party voters remains to be seen. This reality is playing out in a climate where Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who suspended his campaign to endorse Trump, is still technically on the ballot despite efforts to get his name out there in the state. He currently sits at 1 percent.

According to USA Today:

The Michigan Court of Appeals ordered Kennedy's name removed from the state's ballot, but the Michigan Supreme Court, which favors Democrats 4-3, overturned that decision in a split decision. Kennedy appealed. to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
