A suspect shot and killed a passenger on a Los Angeles MTA bus and hijacked the vehicle early Wednesday morning before leading police on a more than hour-long chase before being arrested by a SWAT team, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) told Fox News Digital.
The dramatic incident began around 12:45 a.m. when police received a 911 call about a shooting and subsequent busjacking in the area of Figaro and Manchester streets.
Police say the suspect shot and killed at least one other suspect before getting into the back of a vehicle and heading north.

A Los Angeles Police Department SWAT team finally stopped the bus at 2:05 a.m. near South Alameda Boulevard and 6th Avenue, about six miles northeast of where the initial hijacking occurred.
According to police, online images and live streams from local news reporters showed an MTA bus parked on the side of the road with an armored police vehicle in front of it and armed SWAT teams at the scene.
The suspect was taken into custody and the injured victim was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

It is unclear whether there were other passengers on the bus at the time, and the motive for the shooting is also unclear.
