One of the Christmas NFL games streaming on Netflix is expected to feature an intriguing sideline reporter.
Taylor Lewan, the former Titans offensive tackle and three-time Pro Bowl selection and co-host of the Barstool Sports podcast “Bussin' With the Boys,” said on his show earlier this week that he's on the “final list” to appear in Netflix's Christmas doubleheader.
The Washington Post exclusively reported on Tuesday that Fox Sports has rejected the streaming service's request for Kevin Burkhart to call games, and that Netflix is now targeting Ian Eagle, Noah Eagle, Nate Burleson and Greg Olsen as play-by-play announcers.
Netflix doubleheaders will feature the Chiefs vs. Steelers and the Ravens vs. Texans.
On this week's episode of “Bussin',” Lewan revealed that he's been considered for a role on the extravaganza.
Co-host Will Compton was surprised and asked if he might become a commentator.
“No, probably on the sideline,” Lewan said.
“That's a good thing, right? I think it's kind of amazing to have a person of color commentating for one game. Just one game.”
Compton said he thinks Lewan is “excellent” for the job.
“Me too,” Lewan said. “Like, if Tom gets $300 million? Give me two. I'd like to play a game.”
Earlier this year, Social media rumors Lewan may host an upcoming reality show on Netflix.
Netflix is reportedly set to pay a total of $150 million for the NFL doubleheader.
