In a surprise move this week, the Federal Communications Commission voted to approve Audacy's bankruptcy reorganization plan, putting the second-largest radio station network in the hands of George Soros.
“Now the giant microphone has fallen into the hands of a megalomaniac,” said Jill Savage of “Blaze News Tonight.” “Let's be honest, with the election just six weeks away, this is a big move.”
FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr, who has been outspoken on the issue, said: Glenn Beck In a recent interview, he said the FCC committee cut short a process that could have taken six months to quickly approve Soros' ownership stake.
This is unusual because more than 25% of Soros' shares are held by foreign investors and he has petitioned the Biden administration to fast-track the proposal despite its sovereign risk securities rating.
Blaze News media critic Rob Eno also expressed concern about the move, especially with the election approaching.
“Seven of the news and talk shows are in Pennsylvania, which is a battleground state,” Eno told Savage and Matthew Peterson, noting that conservative hosts “may be out of work next week.”
“If they lose their jobs right before the election next week, it silences a voice. And I think the biggest part of this is the potential for foreign collusion, right?” he continues. “Twenty-five percent is owned by foreign companies. We don't know who that is. Is it Russian? Is it Chinese? Is it just British? I mean, who are these foreigners?”
But there are also good aspects.
“The good thing is that a lot of younger generations are getting their news from podcasts, TikTok, etc., so in the long term, this may not be as big an issue,” Eno explains.
“In the future, you will have to register directly with platforms like: Blaze TV “Because if you don't, Blaze News will pick it up,” adds Matthew Peterson.
