Trump Announces When He Will Return To Hold Rally At Site Of Butler Assassination Attempt

Former President Donald Trump is scheduled to return to Butler, Pennsylvania, the site of an assassination attempt earlier this year, on October 5.

Trump Promised He was scheduled to host another rally in Butler on July 26 after an assassination attempt by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks on July 13. A bullet grazed the former president's ear and killed rally-goer Corey Comperatore.

“President Donald J. Trump will return to Butler, Pennsylvania, to hold a rally at the very place where he nearly lost his life less than three months ago,” the campaign said. said In a news release.

“President Trump's return to Butler will be a tribute to the American spirit. In America, we do not allow monsters like that evil assassin to have the last word. Whenever our nation faces attack or hardship, we come together, we endure, and we prevail. When terrorists topple our skyscrapers, we build them taller,” the statement added.

a Report Investigators for the Senate Homeland Security Committee found that the U.S. Secret Service had repeatedly denied requests for increased security for Trump before the assassination attempt at Butler. Trump's return to Butler comes after a second assassination attempt on Sept. 15 while he was at his Florida golf club.

Secret Service agents intervened during the golf outing, firing at the assailant, identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, who was hiding in bushes on the edge of the club. The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
