A video posted to the website of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in 2022 is coming under new scrutiny in the wake of a second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.
Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) posted the video on X, adding, “This was posted on the Ayatollah's website. Truly horrifying and appalling.”
President Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., also posted the following:
This was posted on the Ayatollah's website. This is what you would expect from a terrorist regime. My father brought Iran to the brink of bankruptcy…then the Biden/Harris Administration swindled billions of dollars out of it and made the world a much more dangerous place. Enough!
The video is an animated depiction of a plot to assassinate Trump on a Palm Beach golf course, vowing revenge against the former president for ordering the deadly U.S. strike on General Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' Quds Force.

President Trump ordered the strikes against Soleimani in 2020 after a series of attacks on U.S. troops in Iraq in late 2019. Soleimani was also responsible for killing and wounding hundreds of U.S. troops during the Iraq War.
The video bears eerie similarities to a second assassination attempt on September 15th.

The video shows the robot entering the golf course and taking aim at President Trump. The video includes a message in English saying, “Those who killed Soleimani and those who gave the orders will pay the price.” The robot then transmits the coordinates of the drone strike to a command center.
The most recent assassination attempt involved a man named Ryan Wesley Routh, who reached the fence line of a golf course with a rifle while Trump was playing golf.
The investigation comes amid growing questions about whether Iran was behind the second, and possibly first, assassination attempt on President Trump.

On Wednesday, President Trump posted a warning against Iran on Truth Social.
Iran is threatening my life. The entire US military is watching and waiting. Iran has already taken action and it didn't work. They will try again. It's not a good situation for anyone. I am surrounded by more soldiers, guns and weapons than I've ever seen. I'm grateful to Congress for unanimously approving significant funding for the Secret Service. There were zero votes against and it's completely bipartisan. It's good to see Republicans and Democrats united on something. An attack on a former president is a death wish for the attacker.
