Coach Caitlin Clark's historic debut season with the Indiana Fever came to a heartbreaking end on Wednesday night when the team lost Game 2 of their playoff series to the Connecticut Sun.
Clark defied expectations entering the WNBA and had a stellar rookie season, taking a few weeks to settle in with her teammates after finishing as runner-up in the national championship game for the second straight year, but she helped the team turn a 1-8 start into a strong playoff run.

Following the loss to the Sun, Clark said he plans to take some time to reflect on the year.
“I feel like basketball has taken over my life this past year, so it's good to reflect on what's happened this past year,” she told reporters. “My time in college went by so quickly that I feel like I didn't have time to reflect, but I came here and tried to give everything I could for this team, and it's been a special experience.”
“There were a lot of things that this group accomplished that a lot of people probably thought were impossible.”
Clark became the first rookie in WNBA history to record 25+ points, 5+ rebounds and 5+ assists in a playoff game, but that wasn't the only accolade she earned throughout the season.

She became the first rookie to record a triple-double when she played against the New York Liberty in July, and the first player in WNBA history to accomplish the feat against the team ranked first in the standings.
She set a single-game record with 19 assists against the Dallas Wings, and ended the season with 337 total assists, setting a single-season record for assists.
Clark set a new rookie record with 122 three-pointers made in a season, the second-most in a single season, and is also the first player in WNBA history to record multiple games of 25 points, 10 assists and five or more three-pointers.
Those records are just the tip of the iceberg. Not to mention, she was unanimously named the AP WNBA Rookie of the Year.
Frighteningly, she told reporters on Wednesday that she's still “just scratching the surface.”

“I think it's been a great year,” she said. IndyStar“But the fun part for me is, I feel like I'm just scratching the surface. I'm obsessed with everything that I do. I want to help this franchise get better. I want to help my teammates get better. I want to be better for my teammates. And I know there's still room for me to get better.
