Eduardo Sol, star of ABC's reality show “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” has died at the age of 58. Authorities said stabbing was the cause of death.
According to riverside county sheriffSol died Friday at Desert Regional Medical Center following the incident in Palm Springs, Calif., 10 days earlier (5:41 a.m. on Sept. 10).

of palm springs police department In a press release, the Riverside County Sheriff's Office said officers responded to a 911 call from a man at the same address and time listed.
“Upon arrival at the scene, officers heard a male clearly in distress inside the residence,” Palm Springs Police said in a statement. “After entering the scene, officers located a male suffering from serious injuries from the assault.”
“The victim reported to police officers that he had been stabbed, but did not identify the assailant,” the news release said.
The stabbing victim was rushed to a local hospital and was listed in serious but stable condition at the time.
Police said hours after the stabbing, they received a call from a man who said he had been assaulted the night before.
However, “through further investigation,” officers determined the caller was the suspect in the stabbing earlier that day.
Palm Springs police arrested Richard Joseph Gonzalez, 34, of Cathedral City. He was initially charged with attempted murder and booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio. updated inmate record show Gonzalez was charged with murder.
Bail has not been set and he is scheduled to appear in court on December 18th.

Xol served as a personality and designer for “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” for over seven seasons.
As an actor, he appeared in the 1998 film Bravo and in television novels such as La Jaura de Oro, Senientos de Oro, and Acapulco, Cuerpo y Alma.
