Anti-Israel protesters chanted threateningly, “We're going to get you,” outside a Big Apple hotel Thursday night, the day before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at the United Nations.
Loud protesters swarmed outside the Loews Regency New York hotel at Park Avenue and East 62nd Street, where Netanyahu is said to be staying, according to images and videos on social media.
Hundreds of demonstrators repeatedly chanted “Netanyahu,” according to footage posted by . Anti-Israel group “Within Our Lifetime.”
“We'll get you.”
The prime minister arrived in town on Thursday ahead of his address to the United Nations General Assembly, as Israel's military operation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip marks one year in the wake of the Oct. 7 terrorist attack.
More than 20 people were detained in Manhattan Thursday morning during protests against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to Manhattan.
Thursday night's protests began near Grand Central Terminal, before demonstrators moved north, closer to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
There, authorities were guarding the facility's main entrance on bicycles.
Video footage taken by the newspaper showed police and a small number of demonstrators clashing, including one person who was handcuffed during the confrontation.
Anti-Israel riot agitators and police clashed again as protesters made their way to an Upper East Side hotel.
Several people were reportedly detained. For social media footage.
The NYPD said multiple people were taken into custody, but did not provide an exact number.
