A new NBC News poll released Friday found that Republican voters have the most negative opinion of Swift.
About 47% of Republicans say they view Swift negatively, up from 26% who said they viewed her negatively last year. Just 12% of Republicans say they have a positive attitude toward the singer, down from 28% last year.
Among Democrats, 58% have a positive view of Swift, up slightly from 53% in 2023.
Swift posted her support on Instagram after the Sept. 10 presidential debate, at a time when it would have the most impact on the media. She announced that she would vote for Vice President Harris, but tempered her enthusiasm by encouraging her millions of fans to do their own research and vote the way they choose.
Harris remains unpopular with many young progressive voters because of the war in Gaza, so her support has been muted. Anti-Israel progressives have protested Kamala's events and last month's Democratic National Committee (DNC). Many of them are now flocking to alternative candidates like the Green Party's Jill Stein.
