Trump slams Fox News for airing Harris border visit

Former President Trump lashed out at Fox News on Saturday in front of a crowd of supporters at a rally in Wisconsin, slamming the news organization. Now on air Vice President Harris' remarks after visiting parts of Arizona's southern border on Friday.

“I have to sit there and listen to her scream last night. So who's going to put that on? Fox News. They shouldn't be allowed to put that on,” Trump said. He added that everything Harris said was “yes.” That's a lie. ”

In her remarks Friday, Harris said she would secure the border and stop illegal drugs from entering the United States.

President Trump has sought to make the border issue a top issue for voters as Election Day approaches and has consistently criticized the Biden-Harris administration over its immigration policies. Opinion polls also show that immigration is a top issue for voters, along with the economy.

Since Harris entered the race in July, Republicans have referred to her as Biden's “border czar,” a term some media outlets have used to refer to the president. asked She pledged to “lead efforts with Mexico and the Northern Triangle” in 2021 and help “stop migration to our southern border.”

The Trump campaign's first ad featuring Harris after she became the top Democratic nominee in July criticized her role in combating immigration at the U.S. border.

But Ms. Harris has touted her record on immigration policy, claiming in a recent ad that she is tougher than Mr. Trump on the issue.

Earlier this week, President Trump criticized Harris' plans to travel to Arizona, saying she was only visiting the border for “political reasons.”

“After almost four years, border czar Kamala Harris has decided for political reasons that it's time to go to our broken southern border,” President Trump posted on Truth Social. “What a shame that she waited so long to allow millions of people to enter our country, not only from South America but from prisons, mental hospitals and criminal cells around the world. Many of those entering are terrorists. It's on a level we've never seen before! “

At the end of 2023, the number of migrant encounters at the border hit a record high, but Border Patrol apprehensions this summer fell by almost half from a year earlier as the Biden administration imposed tougher immigration measures. The number of border encounters in July was the lowest in four years.
