A horrifying situation occurred on the Broncos' sideline at MetLife Stadium.
During the Broncos' 10-9 win over the Jets on Sunday, running back Tyler Buddie collapsed before the start of the second quarter and was forced out with what Denver later described as a hip injury.
After the game, Broncos coach Sean Payton did not have an update on Buddy or say whether the running back would return to Denver with the team. According to the Denver Post.
The incident occurred shortly after Buddy was hit in the back while playing and the impact caused him to cough.
The running back caught a pass from quarterback Bo Nix, but was immediately attacked by Quincy Williams, nearly resulting in a 4-yard loss before the ball popped out.
Michael Carter II recovered the ball and the Jets eventually made a field goal.
But Buddy was then seen lying on his back on the sideline, with Broncos trainers and medical personnel watching the 24-year-old's back.
He was eventually placed on a backboard and carted off the field.
The 2024 season will be Buddy's third season with the Broncos after being signed from the Ravens' practice squad in 2022.
The Broncos added Buddy to the active roster from the practice squad earlier this week.
