This procedure utilized a robotic system and a magnetic endoscope connected via a direct WebSocket protocol for real-time data transfer. The Swiss surgeon performed the surgery from a control console in Zurich, watched the procedure on a live video feed, and controlled the endoscope using a PlayStation 3 Move controller. In other demonstrations, scientists appear to be using PlayStation 5 controllers, which are now very easily available.
