Artemi Panarin left another exhibition game with a lower-body injury.
It was the second time in the preseason that the Russian star wing missed a game due to a lower-body problem, after being ejected in the third period of the Rangers' 6-4 win over the Islanders last week.
In Tuesday night's game against the Devils, Panarin worked just four shifts before going to the locker room in the first period.
The Rangers ruled him out for the remainder of the game at the start of the second.
Panarin said he missed the Islanders game as a precaution, especially since it's the preseason.
But the fact that he didn't even finish Tuesday night's game makes the situation a little concerning.
The Blueshirts could be playing it safe with Panarin, the club's leading scorer since wearing the red, white and blue jersey in the 2019-20 season.
