JD Vance Says Harris Let ‘Record Levels’ of Fentanyl into U.S.

Claim: “Kamala Harris has introduced fentanyl into our communities at record levels,” Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) said. said Tuesday, during the Vice Presidential Debate on CBS.

Verdict: Mostly true. Drug-related deaths are at record highs under the administration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, and many of those deaths are related to fentanyl.

Vance, former President Donald Trump's running mate, made the comments during a debate with Harris' running mate, Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.).

“We are facing a historic immigration crisis as Kamala Harris starts saying she wants to undo all of Donald Trump’s border policies. 94 executive orders halting deportations, decriminalizing illegal aliens. “The massive increase in asylum fraud that exists in our system has opened the floodgates,” he continued.

What that means is a lot of fentanyl is coming into our country. I had a mother who struggled with opioid addiction and got clean. I don't want people struggling with addiction to be robbed of a second chance because Kamala Harris is bringing fentanyl into our communities at record levels. We have to stop the bleeding. We must reimplement Donald Trump's border policies, build a wall, and reimplement deportations.

It's important to note that Harris said she would “stop the flow of illicit fentanyl” coming into the country, Breitbart News reported on Friday.

“In 2021, approximately 107,000 drug overdoses and poisonings were recorded in the United States. In 2022, these deaths will set a new annual record, reaching a peak of more than 111,000 deaths. “In 2023, more than 107,500 Americans died from drug overdose or poisoning,” the article said, citing figures from the Centers for Disease Control.

“Many of these deaths were fentanyl-related, and the victims were unaware that the opioid they were ingesting was laced with a deadly drug,” the report said.

According to Breitbart News, the Republican National Committee (RNC) announced in June that approximately 30.3 tons of fentanyl had crossed the country's southern border since President Biden took office.

The fentanyl pipeline to the United States is almost entirely controlled by China as part of a multi-pronged strategy to weaken the United States and “promote social disorder,” according to Breitbart News senior contributor Peter Schweitzer. It is said to be managed. President Biden and Governor Walz have troubling relationships with Chinese companies and Communist Party officials.
