Doug Pederson denies he’s ‘lost’ the Jaguars locker room

If you don't know you've lost something, is it really lost?

“I would know,” Pederson assured reporters Wednesday. “I talk to them every day, I see them every day.”

“I've talked to some players in the locker room over the last two weeks and they said the locker room is gone when it comes to the head coach,” Schultz said. “When you hear that, it sounds like the team and the franchise are completely in control.”

Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence balked at the report when asked if Pederson lost room.

“You shouldn't even have to answer…absolutely not,” he said.

After the Jaguars' loss to the Houston Texans in Week 4, Pederson remained firm when asked about job security, calling a reporter's question “weird.”

His tone was different when he appeared with the media on Wednesday. Pederson acknowledged the challenges the team faced in September before reiterating his belief in the team and its system.

“There is [been] There are mistakes, sometimes significant ones…but there are also a lot of good things,” Pederson said. “That's what we have to rely on and we just have to keep working.”

The head coaching position is getting hotter and hotter by the day. If Jacksonville's ownership decides to make a change, Bill Belichick, for one, is thought to be a potential candidate for the job.

The Jaguars will be able to get back on track Sunday against their divisional rival, the Indianapolis Colts.

Jacksonville's Week 6 matchup is scheduled for Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and crossing the Atlantic without a rudder probably wouldn't be a good idea.
