Chris Swonger, CEO of the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States, told FOX Business on Wednesday that the industry is “heavily reliant on the vitality of the U.S. port system,” even if work is halted for a day. “It's impacting the entire supply chain,” he said.
His comments come ahead of tens of thousands of longshoremen represented by the International Longshoremen's Association (ILA) beginning a third-day strike on Thursday at 30 ports along the East Coast and Gulf Coast.
