Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), Harris' running mate, responded to criticism for past falsehoods on Sunday, saying he would “admit” when he made “mistakes.”
During an appearance on “Fox News Sunday,” host Shannon Bream asked Walz about his past false statements, but Walz referred to himself as a “knucklehead” during last week's vice presidential debate. I acknowledged that.
Bream asked, “What would you say to the American people who are thinking, 'I don't know if I can trust someone so modified as a potential commander-in-chief of this country?'”
“They know, and I'm very proud of my 24 years of service and my accomplishments. I've never disrespected anyone on this, but that's not how Donald Trump works. I know,” Walz said. “They belittle everyone and make personal attacks. When I say something wrong, I admit it. When I make a mistake, I admit it.”
His remarks Sunday came after he answered questions about past false statements during Tuesday's vice presidential debate. He has said in the past that he took part in the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests, but this was later proven to be false after public evidence showed he was not in China at the time. insisted.
Mr. Walz does not repeat Hong Kong's claims often, and it does not appear that Hong Kong is collecting for power. This was not part of his early biography, not even mention of his travels to China or the year he spent teaching abroad.
