of green bay packers Quarterback Jordan Love suffered a knee injury at the end of the season opener and was expected to be sidelined. Malik Willis took his place, and Green Bay reemerged as a strong team, somehow winning with both backup starters. love came back last week minnesota vikingsit was a roller coaster (4 touchdowns, 3 interceptions) in a close loss to the Packers.
love is back under the center Los Angeles Rams It's week 5 now and it's still not settled down. Late in the second quarter, when the Packers were deep in their own half and faced a long third, Love tried to make some magic happen to get around the safety. It didn't work. His pop-up pass was intercepted by Rams defensive back Jalen McCollough, resulting in the easiest pick-six I've ever seen.
Watch the play here:
Love managed to steal the ball just as he was down for a safety. It worked out perfectly for LA, who returned an interception and scored a touchdown to take the lead.
It's easy to think about how former Packers quarterback Brett Favre's wire-stretching behavior was often great, but also sometimes terrible. To me, this play resembles something Will Leavis would do. It's about trying too hard in a no-win situation and inadvertently making yourself look like a fool in the process.
Love can do wonders to create something out of nothing, but it can also end badly. Mark this in a later column.
