A poll of Israelis found that they would prefer former President Donald Trump to be elected president in November over Vice President Kamala Harris by a margin of more than 2-1.
According to a poll of 1,012 Israelis conducted by Langer Research Associates and PORI (Public Poll Israel) from September 8th to 22nd, 54% of them want Trump to win the US presidential election. In contrast, 24% of respondents said they wanted Harris to win. election.
ABC News reported:
In a September poll, 58% of Israelis said Trump was better for Israel's security, compared to 20% for Harris. If Israelis had the right to vote in the U.S. presidential election, they would similarly choose Trump over Harris by a 54% to 24% margin, with the rest saying they would pass.
To a large extent, this attitude follows the fault lines of Israeli politics. If elections were held in Israel today, 88% of people who said they would support a party in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's ruling coalition said it would be better for Israel's security, while 84% said it would be better for the U.S. president. chose Trump. This result may reflect tensions between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Netanyahu. government and the Biden administration.
In contrast, supporters of the Israeli opposition were split sharply in their support for the presidential election, with 39% to 37% favoring Harris and Trump. That said, even opposition supporters chose Trump over Harris as better for Israel's security, albeit by a relatively narrow margin of 41% to 32%.
Additionally, the survey found that among Israeli Jewish respondents, 58% support Trump, while only 23% support Harris.
This is in stark contrast to U.S. polls showing Trump trailing Harris among Jewish voters.
