Jealous husband tried to hang and electrocute his wife

A deranged Michigan man pleaded no contest to charges that he tortured and abused his wife in a months-long jealous rage, electrocuting her and attempting to hang her in the basement of their home.

The abuse began in January 2023. Madly jealous, Lucio-Ipina took his wife into the basement of his Grand Rapids home, dangled a rope from a beam, forced her to stand over a bucket, then tied a noose around her throat and demanded. she answered.

When the woman slipped out of the bucket and started choking, Lucio-Ipina said he caught her.

Two months later, Ruiko-Ipina sat her on a children's swing hanging in the couple's basement, tied her up, attached jumper cables to live wires and raped her for five hours, according to the report. He allegedly started zapping his wife.

“He tied me with rope and metal wire around my arms and through my back. I couldn't get up even if I wanted to,” she told jurors. “Every time I answered a question or didn't answer a question, he beat me.”

The woman finally reported the abuse to police several days later, and her husband was arrested in April 2023 and released on bail pending trial.

In response to this damning testimony, Lucio-Ipina pleaded guilty to two counts of torture and witness tampering. He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 28th.
