The New York Yankees star isn't blaming his team for Monday's loss.

The Yanks collected just seven hits and went 1-for-6. Runner in scoring position –From the 4th to the 8th inning, no one even got into that kind of scene.

The Kansas City Royals scored four runs in the fourth inning, which was enough for KC to get past New York 4-2 in Game 2 of the American League Division Series and tie the series before heading back to Missouri.

All four runs were scored by Carlos Rodon, who got off to a hot start by striking out all three batters in the first inning. The Yankees tied the game in the 9th inning, but were unable to make a comeback.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. started the comeback with a leadoff solo home run in the bottom of the 9th inning, so maybe he's feeling confident. But he insisted the Royals don't have much to celebrate.

“The feeling of winning is still the same. We're going to continue to go out there and do what we do. I don't think any team is better than us yet,” the infielder said.

“We had a lot of chances tonight. They just got lucky.”

Those words clearly caught the attention of the Royals clubhouse. Michael Garcia appeared to criticize Chisholm.

“We're not afraid of anyone,” the Royals infielder wrote on X, adding, “Let's not celebrate too soon.”

The Yankees are currently 3-for-19 in their first two postseason games, a common bug in their recent October woes.

Clark Schmidt (2.85 ERA) will take his place in New York, and Seth Lugo (3.00 ERA) will return in Kansas City. However, Kansas City's split in New York gave them home-field advantage for the remainder of the series.
