Another Trump vs Harris debate? Voters in key Georgia county say ‘no thanks’

Marietta, Georgia – Americans living in the Atlanta suburbs don't seem to have much interest in a prime-time rematch between former President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.

“If we don't know about them anymore, there's no hope,” one man, who declined to give his name, told Fox News Digital from Acworth, Georgia, last week.

With less than a month until Election Day, Georgia residents are preparing for early voting starting next week.

The Peach State is at stake in this election, as President Biden turned the Peach State blue for the first time in several years in the 2020 election campaign, defeating Trump by less than 1 percentage point.

A significant portion of that support came from Cobb County, Georgia, where Mr. Biden won by an even larger margin than the state overall.

And, like Biden and Trump in 2020, there will only be one debate between the former president and Harris.

Mr. Trump has refused to participate in a second matchup, but Ms. Harris and her allies are eager for another head-to-head showdown.

But people in Cobb County who spoke to FOX News Digital seemed reluctant about the possibility of a second debate.

“I really don't think so,” Howard Seguin said in an interview with Fox News Digital outside a Marietta Whole Foods store when asked if Americans need more discussion. “I don't think Mr. Trump is a very good debater at all. And this is what I think.” [Harris is] empty suit. ”

Another man, who gave his name as Scott, pointed to his grandfather's involvement in politics and suggested that he himself became disillusioned with the glamor of politics at an early age.

“I don't care about the debate because I realized it was mostly staged anyway,” Scott said.

“She doesn't say anything. It's a salad of words. So what's there to discuss? She can't even answer questions,” said a woman named Deb who opposes Harris.

Meanwhile, a Marietta resident named Tori said he would “honestly” want to see another debate, but found the exercise to be of little value.

“It doesn't really matter at this point, because no matter what you do, people are going to have their own opinions,” Tori said. “Maybe 20 years ago there were debates going on where people were glued to their screens and trying to get their point across. But now it's so polarized. Social media and everything else. People get their opinions on candidates because of…day.”

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Sandy, one of the few people who wanted a second debate, suggested he was not excited about either of the potential participants.

“In other words, [Harris has] That's just scratching the surface, but if she wants to get votes, she needs to make it clear what she's going to do, and what she'll actually do. And when it comes to Trump, he doesn't give out any information other than hatred. ”

The latest Fox News poll, conducted late last month, found Harris with a narrow 3-point lead over Trump in Georgia.

Residents of the Peach State will head to the polls for early voting from October 15th to November 1st.
