Florida authorities rescue teenager found floating on fence

A teenage boy floating on a section of fence in a flooded area from Hurricane Milton was rescued Thursday.
Deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office were on patrol in a boat when they encountered a 14-year-old boy.

Footage released by the sheriff's office shows the boy alone in the water in Tampa, and a boat pulled up with deputies.
“We're coming for you. Be careful,” the deputy can be heard saying.
The boy is seen boarding the ship to safety. He was not injured, the sheriff's office told FOX News Digital.

The spokesperson did not provide other details, including the location of the boy's parents.
Milton bombarded across Florida and reached the Atlantic Ocean by Thursday. The storm left 3 million people without power and killed several people.

Milton arrived two weeks after Hurricane Helen hit parts of the southeastern United States. Additionally, Milton produced a series of tornadoes that caused significant damage.
