Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate, said why voters shouldn't blame Harris for the economy or rampant inflation, but instead for “price gouging” and ” He could not explain why he chose to talk about “false information.”
“Let's talk about the economy,” ABC News' Michael Strahan said in an exclusive one-on-one interview with Walz.

“That's the biggest issue for voters. 74% of voters say they had to cut back on food purchases last year because of rising prices. Of course, many of those voters “We voted for Kamala Harris, and she is responsible for that,” he said, asking, “So how do we reach voters?” What would you say to voters who might blame her for the economy? ”
Walz said they are talking to “people in the middle” about policies that will “make a difference.”
“We're looking at some data, but the data doesn't impact people's daily lives, like going to the grocery store,” Walz rambled, adding: Most people want to know what you're going to do about costs if they go up. ”

“I think that's why she's focused on making sure that tax breaks make homeownership more affordable for the middle class. And let's be frank about this, this price gouging. part,'' Walz said, without actually being able to answer the question in any meaningful way.
Asked what Walz would say to those who point out that Harris has been in charge alongside President Biden for the past three and a half years, Walz oddly singled out former President Donald Trump.

“Donald Trump had four years to do it,” he said, without mentioning the fact that Americans did not experience an inflationary nightmare during his presidency.
Walz then appeared to criticize Congress, claiming, “Congress needs partners. Congress needs partners.” You've probably seen these before. We've seen various bills ready to pass, and Donald Trump is certainly trying to intervene. ”
“We wanted to make a difference on this issue, centered around immigration, a widely respected bipartisan bill that upholds our values and secures our borders. Donald. Trump steps in and says, “Look, that's going to hurt my political future.” As detailed by Breitbart News, he didn't mention that this bill is so bad that it probably won't pass on its own merits, but it's important to keep it from happening. “Let's do it,” he argued. For example, the bill legalized immigration at an unusual level of up to 5,000 immigrants per day.
That aside, it remains unclear what this topic has to do with Americans suffering from soaring food prices. Overall household grocery prices have now increased by 22% from January 2021 to September 2024 under the Biden-Harris administration.
