Packers’ Romeo Doubs says he regrets skipping practices and meetings, which led to suspension

If Romeo Doubes had another chance, he says he would have done the right thing.

The Green Bay Packers wide receiver missed two practices last week and was reportedly upset about his role on the team.

The team suspended him for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams because he missed practice.

But Douce expressed regret when speaking to reporters on Friday.

“I wish I had handled things differently,” he said.

Dubbs said “there's something going on mentally” off the field, but he's “reluctant to get too deep into it.”

“I'm just grateful to still be here. I have a great staff, great players and great support,” he said.

Douce admitted he needed to “communicate better” with his team. When asked if the reason for his absence was because he was angry about his role, he replied, “No comment.”

Either way, he seems to have learned his lesson.

“We have a great offense here. We have some ballplayers in the room. … It's obviously much bigger than me personally finding my role. In this league, all that matters is winning football games.”

Daus is coming off a big season with the Packers. During the postseason, he caught 10 passes for 234 yards and one touchdown in two games. In the 2023 regular season, he caught 59 passes for 674 yards and eight touchdowns.

However, due to a crowded receiver room, he has only made 12 catches for 169 yards in four games this season.

With Christian Watson sidelined for the foreseeable future, Douce will likely see more work. However, the Packers will continue to feed Jaden Reed and Dontaavion Wicks.
