Chicken Big Mac panned on social media: ‘Bland’

Social media users aren't too excited about McDonald's launch of the “long-awaited” Chicken Big Mac.

The Chicken Big Mac, which was officially released on October 10th, contains two chicken patties instead of the beef patty included in a regular Big Mac.

“With the introduction of the Chicken Big Mac, we're excited to pay homage to one of our most iconic menu items, the Big Mac, and introduce it to a whole new generation of fans,” said Head of Marketing and Customer Relations. Chicken Big Macs have been sold at some overseas McDonald's stores, but were not widely available in the United States.

But when the sandwich actually appeared on the menu this week, social media users were largely disappointed.

“I'm disappointed that the chicken Big Mac is so mediocre,” said one X user.

The same user replied to his own tweet, writing, “Chicken is basically a bigger version of chicken nuggets and really bland for that size. McChicken is an Elite Value Menu sandwich with a kick of pepper. I don't get it. ” he said. I can see why they didn't use those instead. ”

Most of the complaints about X's Chicken Big Mac centered on the type of chicken McDonald's used in the product.

Another X user said, “I had a Chicken Big Mac today. Not only is it not a Big Mac, but there are way too many breadcrumbs for two pieces of fried chicken.”

Another X user said, “I'd like to say that Chicken Big Mac is a good idea, but if you're a taste bud, please heed my warning.”

The user continued: “It's a wet, tasteless blob disguised as a sandwich. It doesn't even have McChicken chicken in it. You could well stand where he was standing!”

Another X user said, “Chicken Big Mac is way too much. The patty is twice as thick as the burger.”

He continued, “It's hard to bite through. And when you bread this patty and combine it with lots of buns, it becomes a bread bomb. The taste is great. But I couldn't finish it. 3/10” He continued.

Jonathan Mays, editor-in-chief of Restaurant Business Magazine, posted on X that his family had tried the Chicken Big Mac, but had a different opinion.

Online reaction to McDonald's latest menu item was largely lukewarm, with many finding the sandwich “bland” and “no taste”. (St. Petersburg)

“Wife: I won't buy it again, it's too dirty and tasteless, I'll never buy it again. My youngest: It was the best sandwich I've ever had at McDonald's,” Mays wrote.

Mays said his eldest son's fraternity pledge was required to review the sandwich, which he rated 8 out of 10.

However, there were some people who felt strongly in support of Chicken Big Mac.

Alyssa Rose, daughter of Mets radio announcer Howie Rose, highly praised this item.

“We would like to take a moment to honor our Lord and Savior Grimas, not only for his work with the Mets, but also for the creation of the greatest dish of our lifetime, the Chicken Big Mac. I would like to dedicate this to you,” she posted to X.

“Unfortunately, I told you that the Chicken Big Mac was delicious,'' another X user said.

However, one X user had a more subtle problem with the product name.

“You're telling me they actually called it Chicken Big Mac when Big Mac Chicken was right there,” the user posted.
