American investor and Kremlin critic Bill Browder appeared on MSNBC on Sunday to discuss the global threat of former President Trump's second term and highlighted the possibility of him leaving the NATO alliance.
“This is a really scary moment for the entire world in that Donald Trump, if he becomes president-elect, will cut off military aid to Ukraine,” Browder said. “Ukraine is completely dependent on U.S. military aid, which would basically give Russia and Putin some kind of military victory.”
Throughout the conversation, Browder referenced several discussions between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the invasion of Ukraine as well as global events such as the coronavirus pandemic. Browder said Putin's aggression would only increase with Trump back in the White House.
“Putin has plans for other parts of Europe as well. He's looking at NATO members Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania,” Browder said. “If he engages those countries in a military way, we have treaties to protect those countries.”
“And the question is, will Donald Trump uphold his treaty obligations? And he's made all sorts of noises in his previous years about not wanting to be part of NATO,” Browder added. Ta.
He called Putin a “murderous dictator” whom Trump often praises.
“This is a scary moment. If President Putin no longer has to worry about U.S. support for Ukraine and can act wildly against Europe, we will find ourselves in a kind of World War II-like situation. Because it's possible,” Browder said.
