A suspect opened fire near Tennessee State University (TSU) in Nashville on Saturday night, injuring multiple people and killing at least one.

The Nashville Metropolitan Police Department (MNPD) announced the shooting on social media on Saturday.

Police said at a press conference that at least one person was killed and nine others were injured.

“Multiple victims were injured in a shooting incident at Jefferson Street and North 27th Avenue,” police wrote on Facebook. “The scene is safe and the victim is in an area hospital.”
