Jim Harbaugh briefly leaves Chargers game with illness

Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh briefly left the game against the Broncos in the first quarter Sunday and returned to the sideline after what the team said was an illness.

With Harbaugh's return listed as questionable, defensive coordinator Jesse Minter was named interim coach.

Video from the CBS broadcast of the game showed Harbaugh heading to a blue medical tent to be examined.

Harbaugh eventually entered the Chargers' locker room after being checked out on the sideline.

He returned to the sideline late in the first half wearing a headset, but it was not immediately clear whether he had resumed coaching duties.

Harbaugh could also be seen walking down the sideline, giving a thumbs up and receiving a red challenge flag from one of his assistants.

At the time in question when Harbaugh left the game, the game was still scoreless.

The Chargers have not released any details about the illness, but it appears to be serious enough to warrant serious injuries for his brother and fellow NFL coach. Exited the post-match press conference With reporters.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was pulled back from the podium while speaking to reporters to get an update on his brother's condition.
