The armed rally-goer accused of plotting a third assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump claims he has “never” fired a gun in his life and is an avid Trump supporter. I am doing it.
“Yes, I'm 100% a Trump supporter,” Bem Miller, 49, told Fox News Digital, adding that the local police say he brought a weapon to the Republican candidate's rally in the Coachella Valley on Saturday to kill him. He vehemently denied the sheriff's claims.
“He's someone I deeply respect,” he said, who is a registered Republican and has been “all in” on Trump since 2018.
Miller said he bought the gun because he had received death threats since he fired it. America Happens Networka series of podcasts, documentaries, and shows that fight “censorship.”
“I always travel with a firearm in the back of my truck,” he told the outlet, but claimed he's never had to use a gun.
“I literally have never even shot a gun in my life,” Miller told Fox in a phone interview. “I don't know anything about guns. I'm more than a beginner.”
Mr Miller also denied claims that he was found at a checkpoint with a stash of fake passports and driver's licenses.
“None of them are fake,” he said, noting that he is Armenian and has documents that use his full Armenian name and others that do not.
He also criticized Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco, saying he is “far right” and part of the “Sovereign People” movement.
“That's a nonsense statement,” he says of the “sovereign citizen” movement. “I don't think so.”
“Government is an inanimate object, and it's the individuals within government that matter, so no, I'm not involved in any of that,” Miller said.
“They say I'm part of a right-wing rebel group? Why don't they name these groups? Because they don't exist.”
Miller was arrested on gun charges, but was quickly released on $5,000 bail.
No federal charges have been filed, and neither the Secret Service nor the FBI believe it was a planned assassination attempt.
