Approximately 33,000 unionized workers in the Pacific Northwest remain on picket lines, affecting production of several types of Boeing aircraft.
Boeing employees from the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) went on strike in mid-September, disrupting production of some of the company's commercial and military aircraft.
“Aircraft production in Washington State will be temporarily suspended, including work on the 737 MAX, 767, 777/777X, P-8, KC-46A Tanker, and E-7 Wedgetail at manufacturing sites in Washington and Oregon. work will also be temporarily suspended,'' a Boeing spokesperson told FOX Business.

“Employees not represented by this union will continue to report to work as usual,” a spokesperson said, adding that the IAM strike “does not impact 787 production in South Carolina.”

Boeing expects to deliver its first 777-9 in 2026 and its first 777-8 freighter in 2028, according to preliminary third-quarter results released Friday. Previously, the goal was to launch the 777-9 in 2025.

Separate from the KC-46A tanker, production of the 767 freighter is scheduled to end in 2027, Boeing said.
