On the morning of January 24, Patrick recalled, he asked Lindsay how she was feeling and how her sleep had been, to which Lindsay replied that she was “feeling good” and had “slept pretty well.” That morning, she took her eldest daughter to the doctor because of abdominal pain. Patrick said he hopes the medical visit will bring his wife “back to reality.”
Patrick recalled that his wife asked him to pick up dinner and Coke from the pharmacy that night. After leaving the house, he said he felt strange. When she called Lindsay to find out what brand of medication her daughter needed, she didn't answer at first.
When Lindsey called him back a minute later, Patrick later told police that he appeared to be doing something during the 14-second call.
When Patrick returned home around 6 p.m., it was quiet. He had to force his way into the locked master bedroom, he recalled. There he found the window open, a bloody knife on the nightstand and blood splattered on the floor.

He found his wife lying on the ground outside. She jumped out of a second-story window in an attempt to take her own life.
“What did you do?” he asked her, and she replied, “I tried to kill myself.”
When Patrick asks where the kids are, Lindsay replies, “In the basement.”
Patrick was already on the phone to 911 when he found Cora, Dawson and Curran with exercise bands around their necks. When paramedics arrived, Patrick could be heard screaming, “She killed the kids!” It was from the basement, The New Yorker reported.
The two eldest sons were pronounced dead at the scene. Mr Curran later died at the hospital.
Patrick, who was staying with his parents in the aftermath of the tragedy, received a phone call from Lindsay a few days before his arraignment.

Lindsay Clancy appeared in court via Zoom in Plymouth County District on charges related to the children's murders.
“She didn't look like my wife,” Patrick told The New Yorker about the exchange. She appeared panicked and told him that she heard voices telling him to kill the children because it was his “last chance.” After about a minute on the phone, he hung up.
Six months later, on Lindsay's 33rd birthday, Patrick called. The father suggested that the woman reach out because she was “not feeling well and going downhill.”
During that phone call, she told Patrick, “Every day was the worst day of my life.”
“She misses her children,” Patrick said, according to The New Yorker. “I know this sounds crazy to some people, but it's the reality.”
Since that phone call, Patrick said, the two have started talking more regularly.
“I think one of the first things I asked was, 'Did you plan this? Is that why you sent me away?'” he told the outlet. “She said, 'No, it was like a snap of the fingers.'”

Lindsey said she was worried about Patrick getting stuck in rush hour traffic.
“So I said, 'Did you Google murder methods?' And she said, 'Well, for myself, because I've been suicidal for two months.' Patrick said.

Patrick, who has since moved into a midtown Manhattan apartment in New York City, chose to speak to New Yorkers to counter the “lies and misinformation” swirling around Lindsay's criminal case.
“I don't have a home anymore,” he told the outlet after selling the Duxbury home where his children died. “We don't have any kids. It's just me and Lindsey left.”
Lindsay's attorney, Kevin Reddington, told the outlet he plans to use an insanity defense for his client accused of killing the children. Fox News Digital could not reach Reddington for comment at the time of reporting.

However, prosecutors said the killing was premeditated because she had sought help from a mental health professional, was told she was not suffering from postpartum depression, and had researched the method of killing over the phone leading up to the murder. I think it may have been.
