The Michigan Firefighters Union does not support the president.

This is another major blow to Kamala Harris, who had been counting on campaign officials to support her.

Politico reported:

Michigan's firefighters union won't break with the federal organization to support Vice President Kamala Harris, despite hopes from election officials that it can win support from key battleground state unions. .

After 10 days of discussion, the Michigan Firefighters Union finally decided on October 3 to stand by the International Association of Firefighters. That initial decision blindsided Harris campaign officials, who thought they were almost guaranteed to win much-needed support.

“We are following the recommendations of the International Federation for Presidential Elections,” Michigan Firefighters Union President Matt Searle told Politico. “However, we have made it clear to our members that the board believes Ms. Harris is the best choice to support labor issues.”

The Michigan State Firefighters Union Board of Directors recently sent a letter to its members saying it believes Harris is the best choice for president.
