A Venezuelan national was indicted Monday on multiple capital murder charges for allegedly shooting and killing a mother of three and her boyfriend in Texas.
According to Austin police, officers responding to a double homicide in the 1800 block of Barton Drive on the morning of Oct. 14 found the bodies of a man and woman with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle.
Chelles Gregorio Machado Hernandez, 31, is charged with the murders of Francis Ansumé Corredor, 27, and Brian Flores Alvarez, 19, who were pronounced dead at the scene. He was indicted.

An Amber Alert has been issued after Francis Ansoum-Corredor's three children were missing at the time of their mother's death. Police say they have been “located and kept safe” since the shooting.
In a news release, Austin police called Charles Gregorio Machado-Hernandez the “common-law husband” of Francis Ansme-Corredor. Two of Ansuume-Corredor's children are fathered by Machado-Hernández. According to detectives, the two were still living together.

“We have a coward who murdered the mother of these children and left three children without a mother,” Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis said at a news conference.

According to the statement, Machado Hernandez was captured on surveillance video filming Ansme Corredor and Alvarez in a car outside Ansme Corredor and Alvarez's apartment around 3:30 a.m. that day.
An Amber Alert was issued for three children in Ansme Corredor after two bodies were discovered by APD. The children, along with Machado Hernandez's younger brother, were soon found safe, police said.

Authorities soon found Machado Hernandez hiding in the back seat of his brother's black Kia SUV, as he tried to evade police by changing cars. Police called Machado-Hernandez “an armed and dangerous individual” as they searched for the suspect.
Machado-Hernandez is currently being held in the Travis County Jail on $2 million bail. These are believed to be the 51st and 52nd homicides in Austin in 2024.
