Stelter spins Harris’ brutal interview as a win, claiming Bret Baier was a Trump surrogate

CNN's chief media analyst praised Vice President Kamala Harris in an interview with Fox News anchor Bret Baier published Wednesday.

Brian Stelter said Harris rose to the top because “anchor Bret Baier was a solid journalist and incredibly sympathetic to Trump, so Harris was a top supporter of the Trump campaign.'' Because he's in the office. That's what his fans want.”

“So it was like Trump's surrogates were interviewing Kamala Harris,” Stelter continued.

“It makes sense for Fox because this is an extension of the Trump campaign.”

Stelter wasn't the only CNN personality to comment on Harris' good looks during an interview.

CNN's Jim Acosta said “The vice president was ready for that moment,” Stelter said. “It's like he was able to catch Bret Baier playing the wrong clip on the spot. . . . That was extraordinary. “It was a moment,” he said.

“”[Trump’s] City Hall was softball. Harris' interview was tough. That is to be expected from Fox as it is an extension of the Trump campaign. That's why her appearance in the interview was noteworthy. … She was trying to get information to a pro-Trump audience that rarely listens,” Stelter added.

Although some in the mainstream media praised Harris' performance, her staff apparently did not think it went well, as it was reportedly cut short.

“Mrs. Vice President, they're wrapping me up so hard here. I hope you can say what you wanted to say about Donald Trump. … There's a lot of things people want to know about you and your policies. That's why I invited you here,'' Baier said at the end of the interview.

“There were four of us waving and saying, 'This has got to stop!'” Baier recalled after the interview aired. “I had to get off there at the end.”

Harris spent much of her time dodging Baier's questions about the Biden-Harris administration's performance and continued to blame former President Donald Trump for the country's woes.

“More than 70% of people say this” [pollsters] This country is on the wrong path,” Baier told Harris.

“And Donald Trump is running for president,” Harris responded.

“But Madam Vice President, you are the person for the job,” Baier pointed out.
