Former Chicago Bears great Jay Cutler was arrested Thursday and charged with driving under the influence and possession of a loaded handgun while intoxicated.
The former NFL star arrested Cutler was booked into the Williamson County Jail in Franklin, Tennessee, after police were called on Thursday afternoon after he crashed his car into the rear of another vehicle, police said. daily mail.
Officers said they smelled alcohol from Cutler when they arrived at the scene. They also noted in the report that the former NFL player had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes.
Authorities sent him to a local hospital for tests and took blood samples after a search warrant was served. Blood test results were not reported.
Mr. Cutler was charged with three counts of driving under the influence, negligence, violation of the implied consent law, and possession of a handgun while under the influence.
The former Bears great posted $5,000 bail and was released hours after being named.
