Super PAC hits Harris with contradictory ads on Israel

A Republican-led super PAC is running contradictory ads about Vice President Harris' stance on Israel in Michigan and Pennsylvania in an effort to target Arab and Jewish voters in key battleground states.

In Michigan, the Future Coalition PAC ran several ads highlighting Harris' support for Israel and suggesting that pro-Palestinian protesters “hate her.”

“Vice President Harris chose a side, the right side.” 1 ad Said. “Mr. Harris has made her position clear. She supports Israel and the Jewish people. She has done so many times. She understands the unbreakable bond between the United States and Israel.”

“When supporters of a free Palestine stood up for Gaza, Ms. Harris put them in their place,” it added. “And supporters of free Palestine hate her because Kamala Harris understands that. We believe she will always support Israel.”

Michigan is home to many Arab Americans who have repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with the Biden-Harris administration's approach to Israel and Gaza.

The Great Lakes state is at the center of the Irresponsible Movement, which calls on Americans to vote “Irresponsible” in the Democratic primary to express their dissatisfaction with the administration's policies.

Meanwhile, in Pennsylvania, the Future Coalition PAC ran an ad suggesting that Harris had failed to adequately support Israel and stand up against anti-Semitism. The Keystone State has a large Jewish population. 1 ad I tried to be specific.

“There are questions being asked in Jewish communities across the country,” he said. “Why did Kamala Harris support denying Israel the weapons it needs to defeat Hamas terrorists who have massacred thousands of people?”

“And why did Ms. Harris show sympathy for the virulent anti-Semitic campus protesters?” the ad continued. “And why is she running ads that pander to Palestine? We must stand up against anti-Semitism. Jewish voters, regardless of party, must speak out no more. Kamala Harris, we have nothing more to say.”

The super PAC has Republican strategist Ray Zabourny as treasurer and Cabell Hobbs, former treasurer of Never Back Down, a super PAC that supported Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' presidential campaign. Appointed as assistant financial officer.

All of the Future Coalition's funding came from a single $3 million donation on Aug. 16 from a group called Building America's Future, according to campaign finance records.

Building America's Future is known as a “dark money” group and is not required to reveal the source of its funds. however, wall street journal reported earlier this month that tech billionaire Elon Musk had provided funding to the group.

The Hill reached out to RightSide Compliance, which is listed on the PAC's FEC. registration formfor comments.

Both Michigan and Pennsylvania are expected to be key in the increasingly close race between Harris and former President Trump. Recent polls show Harris leading Trump by 1 point in Pennsylvania, and another poll shows Trump leading Harris by 1 point in Michigan.
