Starring Alec Baldwin saturday night live For the first time since manslaughter charges in the deadly 'Rust' shooting were dropped.
The 17-time host returned for the fourth episode of SNL's 50th anniversary season, playing Fox's Bret Baier in the show's cold open.
Baldwin's makeup mug was first shown on screen, and the live audience screamed, unsure whether to applaud or gasp.
A scene-stealer in Schweddy Balls, he played the Fox News personality opposite SNL alum Maya Rudolph, who played Vice President Kamala Harris.
Mr. Baier, played by Baldwin, repeatedly interrupted Mr. Rudolph's remarks to Mr. Harris and reiterated his criticisms of the interview, which suggested the host trampled on the candidate's answers.
Alec also chimed in with the punch line in the cold open – “Live from New York, it's Saturday night!” According to the Saturday Night Network, this is the 45th time Baldwin has said the phrase. This puts him fifth all-time in that category.

Baldwin appeared in an episode of last season's show after casting member James Austin Johnson dropped the role of Trump following an incident on the set of the film The Last in 2021.
Saturday's episode was hosted by “Beetlejuice” actor Michael Keaton, along with musical guest Billie Eilish.
