This book is for Christians who say, “We want to change the culture somehow, we want to change the country, but we're sitting somewhere in a church building and we have no influence on what's going on.'' I haven’t given it to you,” Al says. My favorite chapter is “Heavenizing Earth.”
“What do you tell people? [heavenizing earth]” So Al says to Cameron.
“If we look at Genesis chapter 1, we see that God created the world, and God gives man a mission, saying, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, take dominion.'' Go, conquer everything.'' [God] “God created humanity,” Cameron said, noting that God's mission to humans is rooted in the idea of ”family.”
Prime Minister David Cameron said the family had been given a “cultural mission” to “develop God's world in a way that is consistent with God's character”.
Then, following the resurrection of Jesus, the command for Christians was expanded in the form of the Great Commission. God's people were not only called to fill the earth and become obedient to God, but they were also called to spread the good news of salvation offered through Jesus.
But despite the fact that we are filled with and empowered by the Holy Spirit, Christians today are “so intimidated and depressed by the giants of our country,” Cameron says. .
What do giants look like today?
“Big Tech, Big Government, Big Pharma, Big Business,” Cameron said. Now there are Christians who are “sitting on the couch watching Fox News, crying over Chick-fil-A soup, and praying for joy.”
But that way of thinking is not how God designed His people to function, and it will never help turn our nation around.
“Just because we don't have a frivolous attitude in this culture, we've created a self-fulfilling prophecy of a worsening future,” Cameron says. “Extremists on the left, on the other hand, have a victorious vision of their worldview and believe that their ideas are powerful enough to create heaven on earth.”
The consequences of this combination are especially devastating for children.
“These kids say, 'They care about the environment. They care about the environment.' They care about loving people, especially the dispossessed. They are trying to bring people from other countries and give them asylum and dreams and hopes. They want to end all the problems in the world caused by greed and capitalism. It's the people,” said Prime Minister Cameron.
“Suddenly, we have handed over the Biblical strategy of creating a beautiful culture to an enemy who is beginning to run it better than the family of faith.”
