On Monday, authorities responded to a report of a shooting just before 5 a.m. at a home in the Lake Alice Road area of Fall City, Washington.
The sheriff's office reported that three children and two adults were killed in the incident. Homicide detectives are currently investigating the shooting as a possible domestic violence incident, according to KCSO Public Information Officer Mike Mellis.
“This is an important event for the neighborhood,” Mellis said. “And I would call it a significant event for the region.”
“What we found was a mix of injured and dead people,” he added, without specifying their relationship.
An unidentified juvenile suspect was taken into custody. If the suspect is under the age of 18, his or her identity is usually not released to the press because he or she is still a minor.
King County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Brandin Hull added that another teenage boy was also hospitalized.
Mellis noted that KCSO does not believe there is any danger to the public as it is considered a domestic violence incident. He also said no further arrests are expected in connection with the shooting.
