Pink-haired thief with 14 arrests busted for robbing boy, 7, and slapping his mom in NYC — then cut loose again

A woman who has been arrested 14 times was arrested again last week for robbing a 7-year-old boy and slapping the boy's mother inside a Bronx warehouse, but was released without bail shortly after, police said. announced the source.

Police said Monique Fort, 48, stole about $4 from a child's hand and then killed her mother inside Richard's Fruit and Vegetables on Jerome Avenue in Mount Eden on Sept. 24. He was arrested on October 16, about three weeks after he was arrested.

Fort was charged with robbery, assault, grand larceny, petit larceny, possession of stolen property, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment, according to police and a criminal complaint.

Surveillance video of the shocking bodega robbery showed Fort sticking his head in the door of the small market and calling out to a boy with cash in his hands.

She snatched the money and tried to leave, but the video showed her lunging at the boy's 38-year-old mother, who was pushing another young child in a stroller and tried to stop her.

Fort appeared to have been hiding in plain sight for several weeks after the attack, a warehouse employee previously told the Post.

Eric Vidals, a co-owner of the store, said last week that she recognized the suspect from her neighborhood and that despite the theft and assault, she was still hanging around.

He once saw her without a wig and called the police, but they were too late.

“She's still walking around here. I saw her about two days ago,” the female employee added. “She ran away [after the attack]But I live nearby and I saw her walking. [again]”

Fort, who also posted a lengthy rap sheet in the Bronx, was arrested on September 26 on mischief charges, police said.

Her last assault arrest occurred in Brooklyn on March 17, 2021, according to authorities.

Police said previous arrests included robbery, reckless endangerment, prostitution and loitering.
