A group of Australian schoolgirls dressed up as Ronald McDonald and attacked a McDonald's, causing havoc.
A video of students at Sacre Coeur Basilica in Glen Iris, Victoria pulling off a prank on Prank Day has racked up millions of views. I shared them on TikTok.
At least 100 schoolgirls, wearing iconic yellow and red outfits and red curly wigs, descended on the local 'Golden Arches' as part of the annual end-of-school festivities. .
The video, which has been viewed about 40 million times, shows Catholic schoolgirls rushing into a fast-food restaurant, and surveillance cameras inside the restaurant show the students completely occupying the space from the front entrance to the counter. It became clear that it had been occupied.
Some at the women's event decided to take photos behind the counter, while others were photographed interacting with McDonald's staff.
“All I know is that the workers really did it,” one user commented, prompting the student behind the viral video to say, “No, they loved us.”
The overwhelming reaction to today's prank was one of disbelief, with many taking to the comments section to express their disbelief at the scale of the stunt.
“How did you get so many people to agree?” one asked.
“Here's my question: How do we get so many people to participate?” pressed another.
One person said: “This would have made me claustrophobic.”
Many thought the prank was “funny” and claimed McDonald's employees would have liked it too.
“If you jump, you'll die,” one said.
“I love how they are discreet and respectful and don't trample you to get into the work area,” another user shared.
Some reasoned, “No, honestly, I would have liked this if there wasn't so much chaos and everyone wasn't making too much noise.”
“As a McDonald's employee, I guarantee you we talked about you for an hour or so afterwards. And you probably made the most of your day,” someone else claimed.
Dirty Day has a history of causing havoc, and schools are now working to be more respectful of the annual student tradition.
Sadly, things continue to get out of hand, with one teenager “seriously injured” in a nasty prank last year.
The 17-year-old was hit by a car as several Oak Hill University students gathered on First Farm Drive in Castle Hill to throw water balloons.
As a result, schools are now trying to keep children on campus to avoid accidents and suspensions.
