The Carolina Panthers will return quarterback Bryce Young on Tuesday after Andy Dalton, who replaced Young in Week 2, was involved in a car accident.
Head coach Dave Canales issued a statement to quarterback on Wednesday after Dalton did not practice, even though the accident, which also involved his wife, children and dog, did not require emergency transport. He announced his conversion. No patients required emergency medical transport.
However, Dalton's injury appears to be enough for the Panthers to use Young, the 2023 No. 1 overall pick, again. Young was benched this season after a disastrous start in the first two games.

Canales added that the team will evaluate Dalton throughout the week to see if he can back up Young for Sunday's away game against the Denver Broncos.
Young started the year as the Panthers' starter, hoping to improve on the Panthers' dismal 2-15 first year in the NFL.

However, this season didn't get off to a great start. In the Panthers' 47-10 loss to the New Orleans Saints, Young had 13 of 30 hits for 161 yards, zero passing touchdowns, and two interceptions. And the Los Angeles Chargers beat them 26-3 with Young throwing just 86 yards, including an interception.
Before Week 3's game against the Raiders, Canales benched Young in favor of veteran Dalton, but that proved to be the right decision, as Carolina's only win of the year came in Las Vegas. Ta. Dalton threw for 319 yards and three touchdowns in a 36-22 victory.

However, the Panthers rejected trade talks for Young, wanting him to continue to develop so that he can be more efficient once he returns to the starting lineup full-time.
But if this situation were to arise for Dalton, Canales would need to put Young back in the saddle and prepare for a formidable Broncos defense that has allowed the third fewest yards and points per game so far this season. .
Coach Canales said he is excited to have Young back in the starting lineup.
“He's been an absolute stud throughout this whole process,” he said. “He's been an active participant in what we're doing, so he's excited about this opportunity. I'm fired up for him to get another chance to get in there and play football.” .”

Young is 2-16 in his young career as the Panthers' starting QB. He will go up against Broncos rookie Bo Nix, who seems to be improving every week under Sean Payton's offense in Denver.
