Labour Donor Lord Waheed Alli Breached House of Lords Code of Conduct

Sir Waheed Ali, the major Labor donor at the center of the donations scandal, has been found to have breached House of Lords rules on declaring interests.

Sir Ali acknowledged the fault and said in his letter of apology:

“We will always strive to comply with our code of conduct to prevent a situation like this from happening again.”

The incident is separate from the ongoing scandal surrounding so-called “freebies” given to Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his ministers.

Lord Ali, one of the left-wing Labor Party's biggest donors, has given Starmer the equivalent of £134,000 in entertainment and gifts since 2019, making him the current prime minister's biggest individual donor. .
