The oldest living person in the United States has died at the age of 115.

Elizabeth Francis passed away peacefully on Tuesday night surrounded by her loved ones and family. Granddaughter Ethel Harrison, 69, said her grandmother was simply “a person who loved people.”
“She loved the Lord. Her faith was very strong,” Harrison said. “She was always upbeat, saying, ‘How are you doing?’ How are you doing?’ That was just her personality.”
“And she always said, treat people the way you want to be treated. That was her motto,” Harrison continued.
“Whenever I go to her house, I don't care what day of the week she's cooking,” Harrison added. “So I think that had a lot to do with it too. How she took care of her body, things like that.”
Francisco was the third-oldest person in the world at the time of his death. she was born on july 15ththAlthough she was born in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana in 1909, she spent most of her life in Houston, Texas.
When Frances was 11 years old, her mother died and she and her five siblings moved to Houston. Frances was sent to Texas with her aunt and has lived there ever since.
Francis also operated a coffee shop in Houston for nearly 20 years before retiring in 1975.
Although she was an active member of her church for many years, she was 107 years old when she needed a wheelchair.
“She lives in her home and is the oldest person in the world to live in her home, which is really extraordinary. Also, the community that she has through her church. There. [are] A truly active family and community. It's very difficult for people to reach that age in isolation,” Ben Myers, CEO of LongeviQuest, a database company that tracks the world's oldest people, previously said.
In 2023, during an interview with a local Houston news station for her 114-year-oldth On his birthday, Francis said that despite his advanced age, he still feels young.
“I'm very, very young. Look at me, I'm like a little chicken,” she said.
Francis has previously revealed his secrets to living a long life, citing his faith, speaking his mind and not smoking or drinking alcohol. However, the only exception she noted was that she enjoys “the occasional glass of wine.”
The oldest living person in the United States is currently 114-year-old Naomi Whitehead, and the world's oldest person is Japan's 116-year-old Tomiko Itooka.
