Former Romney adviser: Harris will 'win fairly comfortably'

Republican strategist Stuart Stevens suggested in a recent interview that Vice President Harris is running what may be the “best presidential campaign in history.”

“I think the Harris campaign is probably doing something that we're going to look back on.” Best presidential campaign in history” Stevens, a former adviser to Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), told Vanity Fair's Joe Hagan.

“Harris will win pretty easily. I think Harris will win by a bigger margin than he did in 2020.” [Republicans are] They will say this election was fraudulent and the Republicans will fail again. And it's going to be very ugly,” Stevens later added.

Stevens also praised the Democratic Party's response to various issues this election cycle.

“The Harris campaign has balancedly addressed the issues that would be dealt with in a normal campaign, like the economy and the border, while also reminding people that this is no ordinary campaign,” he said.

Meanwhile, former President Trump's plan centers on “voter intimidation,” Stevens said.

“We have no plan other than to intimidate voters,” the strategist said, before adding: “This is a very chaotic campaign with no focus.”

When asked about the possible future of Chris Lacivita, a senior Trump campaign adviser known for his quick attacks on former Secretary of State John Kerry during his 2004 presidential bid, Stevens said: He cited Rashvita's previous attacks on the LGBTQ community.

“Well, the closest thing would be a trans policy attack. But that's a policy put in place by the Bureau of Prisons during President Trump,” he said, noting that the Justice Department made policy changes in 2018 that rolled back protections for transgender people. He mentioned this and said: Transgender inmates in federal prisons.

“And there are two ways to look at this. One, you can say they're doing it because it's working. Second, they're doing it because they don't know what else to do. I think it's more the latter than the former,'' Stevens added.

With less than two weeks until the election, Harris and Trump are in a close race. Nationally, the vice president has a slight advantage over his Republican rival, with Mr. Trump's approval rating at 48.7% to 47.7%, according to Hill/Decision Desk Headquarters' polling index.
