Less than 1 in 10 voters made up their minds in the final week before Election Day, according to exit polls for the 2024 presidential election conducted Tuesday by CNN, ABC, CBS and NBC.
By contrast, 8 in 10 voters said they made their decision before September, when presidential election season traditionally begins.
CNN reported:
Eight in 10 voters say they made a decision about the presidential election before September. Less than one in 10 people said they made their decision in the past week, and about an eighth said they made their decision in September or October.
Similar majorities (about 80%) of those who support Vice President Kamala Harris and those who support former President Donald Trump say they made their decision before September.
The results dampen speculation about the impact of so-called “October surprises,” late-game controversies such as a comedian's joke about Puerto Rico at former President Donald Trump's rally and President Joe Biden's claims that There is a tendency. He says Trump supporters are “trash.”
Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign count Regarding “those who are slow to make decisions,” given that their number is very small, this could also have a negative impact on her campaign.
However, the results are so close in some battleground states that even a delay in just a few deciders could change the outcome.
