CNN anchor Jake Tapper was surprised to learn that Vice President Kamala Harris did significantly worse than President Joe Biden did four years ago.
Around 2 a.m. Wednesday — after Donald Trump had already clinched his path to victory with a win in Pennsylvania — Tapper sought to better understand why Harris lost, speaking to CNN's John. I asked Chief National Correspondent King whether Ms. Harris did better than Mr. Biden in any area domestically. 2020.
Harris' dismal performance raises an ironic question: “Was Biden more competitive than Harris?”
King then pointed to Tapper's grim data showing that Harris did not outperform Biden statewide in any state.
“Holy smoke!” Tapper responded, according to a clip of the exchange. “Literally nothing?!”
“Literally nothing,” King admitted.
King then pointed to Tupper County, where Harris outperformed Biden by more than 3 percentage points in 2020. At the time, only 58 counties nationwide could be included in that tally.
Harris' dismal performance raises an ironic question: “Was Biden more competitive than Harris?”
Tapper and King believe he would not have done so.
Dr. King: “I don't want to be disrespectful to the president of the United States'' It started. “The Vice President of the United States appears to be on the brink of losing the presidential election. She campaigned vigorously from the time she won the nomination until today's vote count. Evidence that the President of the United States can lose. Is there anything on the table that does half of what she did? ”
“No,” Tapper replied.
“A third of what she did?” King added.
“No,” Tapper declared.
Trump's historic overperformance and the nation's red turn are two of the main reasons for Trump's return to the White House.
In fact, Trump improved his vote share in more than 2,300 counties across the country in 2020, but his vote share decreased in fewer than 250 counties. According to a New York Times analysis.
